La Leyenda Aruba is in the books! It was three fantastic, sporty and intense days, in which participants from different countries took on the challenge and enjoyed everything Aruba has to offer by bike.
Curaçao was represented by six riders. All six successfully completed the three races, some a little faster than others. A performance to be proud of!
Alex Slingerland was the fastest of the six Curaçao participants. He completed the three races in an impressive time of 7 hours and 44 minutes, taking 9th place in his category and finishing 17th in the general classification.
As if that were not special enough, Alex also achieved a unique feat: he completed all three La Leyenda events within a single year! Alongside the well-known editions in Colombia and the Dominican Republic, this year also saw the first La Leyenda organised on Aruba.
The event offered beautiful trails, breathtaking views and unforgettable moments. A fantastic way to discover Aruba in a whole different way.
Of course, you could notice it was the first edition on Aruba. As with any new event, there were a few teething problems here and there. But over the three days the organisation ran more and more smoothly and the event visibly improved.
All in all, we look back on a wonderful sporting adventure, with great performances, international participants and plenty of cycling fun.
La Leyenda Aruba comes highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore Aruba by bike! An event that combines sporting challenge with nature, adventure and the chance to experience the island in a unique way.
